A palm-print something
I HATE humidity. It probably started back when I wore my hair (naturally) curly and the moisture, thick in the air, would bloat my ‘do up to 10 times the size it was when I had left the house. Now that pushing a double stroller around the city is a big part of our entertainment around here, I still hate it–but at least a few passes with the straightener means that my hair stays at bay! For an early dinner with friends the other evening in the hot, wet, heat, a simple slip-dress was all I could muster. I bought this one at Top Shop because it was not only a steal, but more importantly, it satisfied my desire for a palm-print something, that up to then, had managed to evade me. Plus I loved that this one had a Pepto-pink background. The print and the simple silhouette make for a classic piece that I know I’ll wear for many summers to come. I topped it with a straw boater and some barely-there lace-up sandals for a look that helped me beat the heat.
