Vintage Vibin' with Le Chateau
I’m perpetually fashionably late and I guess my September style post for Le Chateau is no exception. Our task: pull together a vintage-inspired look to coincide with the company’s new fall campaign, Of Montreal. Comprised of a commercial and print ads, the campaign showcases the Canadian company’s lust-worthy fall collection of richly-hued, luxuriously textured 60s and 70s throwbacks including suede jackets, tie-neck blouses, ponchos, and era-inspired textiles against the backdrop of the city where it all started in 1959.
I originally had a boat load of suede in my fitting room but settled on this unusual-for-me, vintage-look plaid poncho and matching skirt. I’ll wear both separately of course, but felt very Cher Horowitz in the matching set and so I was sold. The power of Clueless. The boots on the other hand, are VERY me and the proof is that they go with everything in my closet…practically.
Finally, I would be remiss if I did not give a shout out to my husband for taking a million photos so that we could capture ONE where the “Imaginez” on the balloons (one of the French words prominentmy featured in the campaign), actually faced the camera. Plus he did it all while holding our fussy three-month-old and in between retrieving the foam arrows our four-year-old son was shooting from his new bow and arrow. What a guy. I cannot “Imaginez” what I’d do without him.
