What I would wear for Mother's Day Brunch
As per our Le Chateau Style Challenge for May, this is what I would wear for Mother’s Day brunch. Or I should say it’s what I might wear…in Toronto it is impossible to get into any sort of eating establishment on Mother’s Day without a reservation made weeks before and I’d rather be spontaneous. I’ll see my own mama and my MIL tomorrow, then Sunday we’re back in the city to just hang out—or maybe we’ll be out of the city on a scenic drive. See? Regardless of what we do, I’ll likely wear this gauzy, white dress from Le Chateau. If you haven’t noticed, the white, boho dress reigns supreme as the must-have item for SS15 and the stores are full of variations. I love the gauziness of this one–not to mention the fact that it fits over my belly. And since learning that my baby bump is measuring two weeks larger than my babe’s expectated gestational age, I have to say that I am totally impressed with the fact that I have always managed to find something to fit me (tons of stuff, actually), at Le Chateau. It, along with a couple of other go-to stores has totally saved me from having a wardrobe redundancy in about four weeks time.
I don’t gravitate toward a super feminine look so I offset the delicate gauziness of the dress with chunky, lace-up booties, a spiky, tribal-inspired necklace, and my leather jacket casually strewn over my shoulders (because that’s so practical when you are doing anything other than standing under your inlaws’ magnolia tree ????).
This dress will obviously serve me equally well post-baby and I can’t wait to show off that gorgeous cut-out detail on the back once the even warmer weather hits.

Love this open-work detail on the back of the dress!
