The Le Chateau Style Challenge for March was to put together a monochromatic look–the trend is huge for SS15 and I was excited to try my hand at it with a colour other than black (which is already a go-to for me). But white, now that is something I rarely wear–especially not from head to toe–but that I’m really feeling for spring from my nails to my shoes. Aside from some blouses and tees however, I don’t have much white in my wardrobe. And while I think Kim K’s style choices leave a lot to be desired most of the time, I have been digging her head to toe neutral looks lately (no matter how repetitive they are getting, right?). She sticks to a pretty rigid formula that goes something like this: form-fitting dress (or crop top and skirt) + jacket + sandals all in the same neutral colour. So that was the mental picture I carried with me into Le Chateau this month. I should also point out that the #LeStyleChallenge has been somewhat of a double challenge for me so far in that I also have to accommodate my seven-months-pregnant belly–which has proven to be surprisingly easy to do with Le Chateau’s selection! Yay to not having to blow money on maternity clothes that I will never wear again! I was happy to find this unstructured, bathrobe-inspired jacket (that I had previously had my eye on) plus this midi crew-neck dress, which not only answered the monochromatic challenge but also fit with my personal style and satisfied my lust for white! As much as I love it worn over a more structured dress as I’ve done here, I’m equally excited to wear the jacket with distressed boyfriend jeans, a tee, and heels.
