Lumberjack chic

Although St. Catharines didn’t get hit as hard with #icestorm2013 as we did here in Toronto, there were fallen trees here and there. I took advantage of the fact that six days after it had fallen the city still hadn’t come to remove this huge pine on my inlaws’ street and used it as the backdrop for this photo. I’m wearing a casual outfit for a day of running errands with my MIL featuring a new, darker pair of distressed jeans and a black ribbed sweater that I practically lived in over the holidays–both from Express. I layered the sweater over a favourite old plaid shirt and topped it off with a new beanie from Target (where I’ve been satisfying my beanie addiction lately). Corky, my husband’s family’s Yorkie, even made a cameo!

Love this. It’s casual, but still put-together and feminine. Also, perfect backdrop! The pine needles and the plaid are a perfect match. And finally, who runs errands with their MIL?? ๐Ÿ˜‰
