Ahhhhhnd it's here
A new school year, crisp nights, renegade leaves that are bucking the trend and embracing their autumnal splendor early…I love fall. September has and always will signal sweaters, apple pie, and a new beginning of sorts (I can’t shake the student in me even eight years post grad). Ok. Yeah. The humid ex was 33 just yesterday, but I don’t care. I’ll never forget move-in day at Western. This undergrad finished unpacking her exclusively cold-weather wardrobe and went down to join her fellow umbra shorts and tee-clad froshers (it was 2001), outside in a turtleneck sweater, jeans, and boots. My starry-eyed naïveté had me prancing around the charming campus in chunky knits and indigo denim, causing me to leave anything that would have been suitable for the unseasonable heat wave, at home. So lesson learned, for now I’m resisting the urge to completely switch my closet over and am focussing on transitional dressing instead. Here I wore a vegan leather top with a midi skirt and instead of going with a summer sandal, I finished it with a pair of ankle boots that are more suitable for fall. I also switched out my light summer mani for this medium blue polish that I really love and a bright, orangey-red (seasonless) lip sealed the deal.
